It is a pleasant physiotherapeutic manipulation aimed at excretion of excess liquid from the body, decrease swelling, improving lymph and blood circulation.
During the manipulation in a special deice by using air under certain controlled pressure it is undulating, directed from the periphery to the center of compression and relaxation of the blood vessels and muscles of the legs, arms or trunk. It helps to improve the flow of blood and lymph through the vessels; the tissues are saturated with oxygen and the breakdown of intracellular fat.
Lymphatic drainage is especially important for legs. Large lymph nodes of legs are gatherers of toxins, viruses and harmful substances, they accumulate and harm the body. Work of lymphatic drainage device causes muscles to contract, which in leads to drainage, i.e. the cleaning of large lymph nodes and, consequently, increase their protective activity.
Lymphatic drainage is used in the treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities, cellulite, edema, weakened blood circulation, overweight, lymphatic insufficiency, lymphedema, including after surgery to remove breast elephantiasis in the syndrome of “tired legs”, reduced immunity.
